Our Vision, Mission
Our Vision
Be disciples who make disciples
Our Mission
Build relationships; spread the Gospel
Our Core Values
Authority of God’s Word/expository teaching: We believe God’s Word is the final authority. It doesn’t contain truth, it is the truth. We default to teaching verse-by-verse, with some exceptions to cover certain topics when necessary. We subscribe to a literal-grammatical interpretation of the Scriptures.
Authentic relationships/fellowship: We believe our authentic love for each other will show others that we are true disciples of Christ. We value being “real” and fight against fake. We strive to be a group of believers that will be friendly to everyone who attends HCC.
Surrendered life: We believe the response of the believer to God’s grace, mercy, and forgiveness is to pursue a surrendered life which is evidenced by an ever-deepening relationship with God and a Spirit-led life.
Missional: We believe that people’s eternity is on the line! We desire to take Jesus’ Great Commission seriously and join Him in what He’s already doing to reach the lost, both locally and globally. The message of the Gospel needs to be crystal clear and we need to be growing in our ability to articulate it well.
Prayer dependent: We believe that God desires that we prayerfully depend on Him in all things. Ministry accomplished in our own strength is counterfeit and worthless.

HCC Convictions on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct and complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God (Genesis 1:26-27). We believe that scripture defines the sacred covenant of marriage as the uniting of one man and one woman in a single and exclusive union (Genesis 2:18-25) and that outside this context of marriage, sexual activity is expressly forbidden (1Corinthians 6:18, 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4). Furthermore, the overall purpose of marriage is to reveal the unique relationship between Christ and The Church (Ephesians 5:22-33).
We affirm that every person is made in the image of God and is thus to be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity (Genesis 1-2; Mark 12:28-31). Unkind and harassing behaviors or attitudes directed toward any individual or group are to be repudiated and are not in accordance with Scripture or the beliefs of HCC.
